Spectacular Sunrise Lights Up Cambridge Sky In Rare Color Display

A 25-second handheld video filmed by X user Peter Payack from a living room window overlooking Fresh Pond captures a striking sunrise on the morning of May 13, 2026.

The footage shows layered clouds filling the sky in vivid shades of pink, magenta, purple, and fiery orange-red as the sun rises along the horizon. The calm surface of Fresh Pond mirrors the intense colors, creating a clear reflection of the shifting sky above.

In the distance, the Boston skyline appears in silhouette against the glowing horizon while the camera slowly pans across the scene, revealing changing hues and detailed cloud formations.

The video was posted with a caption referencing a Wednesday sunrise, daybreak, and spectacular clouds over Fresh Pond in Cambridge and the Boston skyline.

The clip has attracted attention and has been requested for sharing on air and online with full credit given to the filmmaker.
