Riot Police Stand Guard Outside Paris High School Blockaded by Students

Paris, France – Riot police in helmets and body armour stood guard outside a Paris high school as students blockaded schools across France.

X user Verzeletti Celine filmed the officers outside the Lycée Hélène-Boucher in the city's 20th arrondissement on Tuesday, November 3, carrying shields and batons as chanting could be heard nearby.

The school was blockaded that morning, AFP reported, with police and parents forming a security cordon so pupils could get in. Students later staged a sit-in in front of the police.

Some 48 high schools were blocked across France on Tuesday morning, according to the Education Ministry, as students and university students continued a protest movement that began six weeks earlier.

"Alert, the police are blocking the high schools!!!!" the filmer wrote.
