Huge Crowd Waving Palestinian Flags Packs Porte de Charenton as Paris March Arrives

A huge crowd packed the area around the Porte de Charenton in Paris on Saturday, October 31, as a mass march against the high cost of living reached its end point.

X user Aurélien Paret filmed the scene from above the crowd, which stretched as far as the eye could see under a clear evening sky, with many Palestinian flags waving above protesters’ heads.

“Festive atmosphere at the arrival of the demonstration, Porte de Charenton,” the filmer wrote.

The march, moved by Conseil d’État order from its planned Bastille-to-Nation route, ran from Porte de Bagnolet to Porte de Charenton. Police counted 70,000 protesters in Paris, while organisers put the figure at 200,000. Clashes later broke out near the Porte de Charenton as the march was dispersed.
