Brooklyn Home Transforms Into A Terrifying Halloween Spectacle With Climbing Skeletons And Horror Characters
A historic Victorian house in Brooklyn has once again transformed into an elaborate Halloween spectacle, covering its facade, turret and wraparound porch with skeletons, zombies and an array of horror-themed decorations.
X user NYC Photographer filmed the display on October 14 at 1306 Albemarle Road in the Prospect Park South neighborhood, where colorful orange, purple, red, green and blue lights illuminate the house after dark.
Animatronic skeletons appear to climb the building’s exterior and turret, surrounded by witches, clowns, a Ghostface figure and other horror characters. Smaller inflatables and props fill the yard, completing the sprawling display.
The decorations belong to the home of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire and his wife. The annual tradition began around 2013 in connection with the Prospect Park South Halloween Parade and has since become a popular local attraction each October.
The house, known as the John S. Eakins House, was built in 1905 and features Queen Anne and Shingle-style architectural elements.
