Two Men Stranded In Tree Over Florida River After Boat Capsizes
Two men were rescued from a tree limb hanging over the Hillsborough River after their boat capsized and drifted away.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received a call at about 3:30 p.m. on September 15, 2026, near Morris Bridge Park. The men were about 3,000 feet down the river from the boat launch when deputies and a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer reached them.
Rescuers pulled the pair from the branch and into a rescue boat before taking them to shore.
Neither man was hurt. The boat was not found, and the boaters’ names were not publicly released.
