Trump And Meloni Shown Clinging To Oil-Covered Rocket In New Satirical Posters
New satirical posters showing Donald Trump and Giorgia Meloni clinging to a large oil-covered rocket have appeared across several Italian cities.
The posters, put up by an Extinction Rebellion activist, show caricatures of Trump, Meloni and Roberto Vannacci holding onto the rocket beneath the slogan “Remigrate Fascists To Mars To Defend The Earth.”
The posters appeared in Rome, Turin, Bologna, Venice, Treviso, Trento and Parma, including on the walls of Brothers of Italy offices in Bologna and Rome’s Garbatella neighborhood.
The action came days after an Extinction Rebellion activist was reported for alleged contempt of the Republic and government following an earlier satirical installation in Rome. That May 30 display featured a large oil-covered rocket with caricatures of Meloni and Trump and the slogan “Fascists On Mars, Democracy On Earth.”
Police officials removed and seized the installation, saying its display constituted an offense. Extinction Rebellion said the latest action was intended to protest what it describes as restrictions on political satire and freedom of expression.
The movement also criticized government measures aimed at accelerating oil and gas exploration and extraction, linking the latest posters to its wider climate campaign.
