Trapped Baby Deer Rescued As Firefighters Fight 500-Acre Wildfire In Florida
Video filmed by Pasco County Fire Rescue shows crews responding to a brush fire that burned more than 500 acres near State Road 52 and Ehren Cutoff.
The fire began on Thursday, June 25, and initial reports suggest it may have been sparked by lightning.
Pasco County Fire Rescue worked alongside the Florida Forest Service Withlacoochee Forestry Center to contain the blaze and slow its spread along the fire’s edge.
During the response, firefighters discovered an injured baby deer that had become stuck in a fence.
Crews freed the fawn from the wire fencing and ensured it was safely transported to a local wildlife sanctuary for care.
The multi-agency effort continued as firefighters worked to bring the wildfire under control while protecting nearby areas.
