Thousands Gather In Central London For Major Antisemitism Rally Amid Heavy Security

A shaky handheld video filmed by X user Chris Hobbs captured thousands of people attending the “Standing Strong: Extinguish Antisemitism” rally in Whitehall on May 10, 2026, as heavy security measures surrounded the high-profile demonstration.

The footage shows long queues of attendees moving through multiple airport-style metal detector arches near Trafalgar Square while Metropolitan Police officers monitored the crowd and directed people through checkpoints behind blue crowd-control barriers.

More than 20,000 people attended the rally, which was organized by the Jewish Leadership Council and the Board of Deputies of British Jews to demand stronger action against rising antisemitism.

Many people wearing jackets, hoodies, and caps slowly filed into the event area as dozens of police officers stood across the pavements and surrounding streets. Officers were also seen carrying out searches, checking bags, and coordinating security operations near the entrance points.

The video was posted with the caption: “Met officers staffing arches for the Jewish rally as per Notting Hill.”

Three men were arrested during the operation. One man in his 30s was detained after a search arch detected a Stanley knife, while two others were arrested for related offences as part of the Metropolitan Police policing plan.

Although the demonstration remained largely peaceful, some cabinet ministers speaking at the rally were jeered by parts of the crowd during the event.
