Rescue Teams Race To Reach Caver Trapped By Collapse In Sardinian Cave
Rescue teams have been working since October 11 to reach a caver trapped inside a cave following a collapse in the Nuoro province of Sardinia.
Around 30 firefighters are involved in the complex operation, alongside members of the Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service. Specialized Urban Search and Rescue personnel are also taking part.
The risk of further collapses has made the rescue particularly delicate, as teams work to reach the trapped man while avoiding additional cave-ins.
The operation was still underway on October 12, with rescuers continuing efforts to reach and assist the caver.
