Rescue Teams Battle Collapse Nightmare In Desperate 24 Hour Search For Trapped Victims

Rescue teams from the Honduran Fire Department and supporting units continue intensive search and rescue operations inside a collapsed hillside that destroyed warehouses near the Anillo Periférico.

Firefighters and rescuers move through a dangerous field of massive rocks, twisted metal, and heavy debris. Wearing helmets, reflective gear, and protective suits, they rely on headlamps and flashlights to cut through thick dust and smoke.

Teams climb over unstable boulders, signal to one another, and carefully remove rubble by hand as they search for people still trapped beneath the collapsed structure.

The terrain is narrow and unstable, filled with loose earth and broken concrete. Some rescuers crouch low to inspect tight gaps, while others stand ready with tools to respond immediately.

The disaster follows a landslide that struck warehouse buildings, triggered a fire, and left multiple people trapped under debris. The operation has continued without interruption for more than 24 hours.

Authorities have confirmed at least one fatality, along with several successful rescues, while efforts continue to locate those still missing.

The response involves the Honduran Fire Department, military units, and emergency teams, reflecting the scale of the collapse and the ongoing determination to reach every victim trapped in the rubble.
