Red Arrows Sweep Over Newcastle During Great North Run
The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, known as the Red Arrows, performed a flypast over the start and finish line of the Great North Run in Newcastle.
The flypast formed part of the team’s busy summer display season, showcasing the excellence of the Royal Air Force and representing the United Kingdom at home and overseas.
The Red Arrows consist of pilots and more than 100 highly trained support personnel. Each pilot has previous fast-jet operational experience flying the Tornado, Typhoon or Harrier.
The team is based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.
