Police Officer Uses Snow Shovel To Free Skunk Trapped Inside Jar In Nevada

A police officer uses an orange snow shovel to help free a skunk that wandered into a motor pool with a jar stuck on its head.

The Reno Police Department footage shows the skunk walking along a wall as the uniformed officer carefully nudges it with the shovel.

After several attempts, the jar comes loose and rolls across the asphalt. The officer then steps back while the skunk remains beside the wall.

Reno Police said the animal entered the motor pool at the department’s main Public Safety Center with the jar on its head.

The department said no officers were sprayed and the skunk eventually left on its own.

Police joked that visitors without an appointment would be escorted off the property.
