Person Severely Injured After Falling From Big Sur Waterfall In Helicopter Rescue
A person with severe injuries was airlifted from Big Sur Gorge on Saturday after falling from a waterfall.
The CHP’s H-70 helicopter was requested after receiving an update on the patient’s condition and the rescue equipment needed for the extraction from the Big Sur Fire helicopter rescue team.
The person had reportedly fallen from the waterfall and sustained severe injuries. H-70 successfully completed a hoist rescue, using a metal cable system to secure the individual and pull them into the aircraft.
The injured person was transported to safety by H-70 before REACH Air Ambulance took them to a trauma center in Salinas for further treatment.
