NYPD officers revived a one-month-old baby with CPR after responding to a 911 call reporting that the infant had stopped breathing in an apartment in Astoria on 1 October.

Body-camera footage released by the New York Police Department shows officers from the 114th Precinct immediately beginning chest compressions after finding the baby unconscious and unresponsive at around 4:41 p.m. near 24th Avenue and 27th Street.

The officers took turns performing CPR for roughly a minute and a half. The baby resumed breathing after the compressions, and officers carried him outside, where emergency medical personnel took over.

The infant was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition.

The NYPD released the footage around 12 October, highlighting the officers’ response to the emergency.
