New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani Celebrates Eid Al-Adha With Bronx Community

Video filmed by X user Syed Ali shows New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani celebrating Eid al-Adha with the community in Parkchester on May 27, 2026.

The footage captures the festive atmosphere as Mamdani speaks to local residents during the holiday prayers and celebration.

During his remarks, the mayor connected the central story of sacrifice in Eid al-Adha — the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son — to themes of solidarity and affordability in modern New York City life.

The clip was posted with the caption: “The first-ever Muslim NYC Mayor, Zohran Mamdani, celebrating Eid al-Adha with us in Parkchester. Zohran relates the story of sacrifice that Eid al-Adha is centered on back to solidarity and affordability.”

Mamdani is New York City’s first-ever Muslim mayor. The appearance was one of several public events he attended across the city for Eid al-Adha 2026.
