Nepal Army Rescuer Crawls Through Dark Flooded Tunnel After Deadly Disaster Strikes Nepal
A Nepal Army rescue team is shown working inside the Langtang Hydropower Project tunnel after flash floods struck the area on August 26, 2026.
The footage shows a soldier wearing camouflage, a white helmet and red harness crawling through a narrow, wet passage filled with mud, rocks and hanging roots.
Using a headlamp and ropes, the soldier moves through the difficult conditions as the search operation continues inside the tunnel.
“Hope never extinguishes even in a dark tunnel.”
The operation followed flooding and debris that buried tunnels along the Bhote Koshi–Trishuli corridor.
At the 20 MW Langtang project, rescue teams later reached tens to about 185 metres inside the tunnel. At least one body was recovered.
