Rasuwa — Langtang Khola / flood-hit hydropower tunnels – Nepali Army personnel are seen wading through mud and standing water inside a damaged hydropower tunnel following the August 26, 2026 Bhotekoshi flood.

In the footage, soldiers move through a corrugated orange penstock toward a distant opening, with ropes, lifting slings, shovels and poles scattered through the silt. A rope-bound, wrapped bundle is then hauled through shallow water under helmet lamps.

A second clip shows soldiers in camouflage and colored helmets moving through a horseshoe-shaped rock tunnel toward a lit portal.

The Nepali Army, working with APF, Nepal Police and Indian tunnel specialists, cut into the Langtang Khola 20 MW penstock and advanced about 150 meters inside.

Two bodies were recovered on September 3 and taken to Nuwakot. They were not identified at the site, with DNA testing planned.

The Langtang tunnel search was later stopped after the two recoveries, while 39 project workers remained unaccounted for and 19 others had already been rescued.

The Army said holes were opened at two points, but mud and boulders blocked further progress. Separate rescue operations continued at Chilime, Upper Trishuli-1 and Upper Trishuli-3A, where two men were pulled alive on September 4 after nine days.
