Menifee Residents Hit By Powerful Dust Storm As Winds Reach 60 MPH
Powerful winds swept through Riverside County on Saturday, 10 October, driving dust and debris across the area and reducing visibility as Southern California experienced gusty weather.
Video filmed by X user Wejolyn at approximately 1:20 p.m. shows dust and debris blowing across an outdoor area, with trees and other objects moving in the strong winds.
The conditions developed as moisture and energy from the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel moved through Southern California, bringing showers, thunderstorms and strong winds to the Inland Empire.
The National Weather Service in San Diego issued special weather statements and severe thunderstorm warnings that afternoon for valleys in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, warning that wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph could knock down tree limbs and blow unsecured objects around.
Wejolyn shared the footage asking whether others in Riverside County were also experiencing dust storms and high winds, later confirming the location and time as Menifee at approximately 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
