Massive Wedge Tornado Tears Through Oklahoma Suburb As Violent Funnel Crosses Residential Edge

Video filmed by X user H.D. Stratton captures intense ground level views of a large and violent tornado moving through the south edge of the city, approximately half a mile northeast of Vance Air Force Base, as described in the caption.

The shaky handheld footage, recorded from a suburban driveway on the evening of April 23, 2026, shows a massive dark wedge shaped tornado rotating violently under a heavy wall cloud and storm filled skies. The funnel dominates the scene as it moves across the area.

In the foreground, a silver minivan is parked on a wet concrete driveway. Single story homes, green lawns, trees, and mailboxes fill the surrounding neighborhood as the storm approaches.

The camera pans unsteadily to follow the tornado’s destructive path as it looms over the residential area. Rain, low clouds, and debris are visible throughout the chaotic scene as the funnel crosses the landscape.

The footage documents the significant tornado that struck during a severe weather outbreak on April 23 to 24, 2026. The storm remained on the ground for more than 30 minutes.

It caused major damage to homes, especially in neighborhoods such as Gray Ridge Estates near Vance Air Force Base. Around a dozen minor injuries were reported, with no fatalities.
