Massive Smoke Plumes Rise Over Spanish Hills As Peñas De Riglos Wildfire Rages On

Thick columns of gray and brownish smoke rise over forested hills and valleys as BRIF Daroca personnel withdraw after working on the Peñas de Riglos wildfire.

Aerial footage filmed from inside a helicopter at dusk shows dense smoke covering the landscape. Green pine forests and scrub stretch across the slopes beneath the towering plumes.

The camera pans across the hills and valleys, showing the extent of the smoke against the sunset sky. A red equipment bag or piece of gear is visible hanging near the helicopter.

The footage shows the situation as BRIF Daroca personnel withdraw to their base after operations on August 11, 2026.

The wildfire had already burned several thousand hectares of continuous pine forest, with multiple evacuations ongoing in the area.
