Lightning Tears Across Sky As Storm Sweeps Spain’s Castellón Province
A powerful lightning flash lit up the night sky over the coast as a storm swept across Castellón province on September 16, 2026.
The footage was filmed from Almassora beach at about 11 p.m., with lightning branching across the sky above rooftops and a fence before darkness returned.
Firefighters reported a province-wide storm and said there had been no major incident at that hour, but seven storm-related callouts had been recorded by midnight.
An orange rain alert was in effect, while orange rain and storm warnings covered the south of the province.
Lightning also started fires in Segorbe, la Vall d’Uixó, Tales and Almenara, while a house-front wiring fire was reported in Betxí.
