Lightning Flickers Over Scottsdale Rooftops as ‘Round Two’ Storm Brings Day’s Rain to 2.3 Inches

Lightning flickered across the night sky over Scottsdale, Arizona, on Friday, October 30, as a second round of storms rolled in after a day of heavy rain and flash flooding.

X user StacyH11 filmed the storm from their backyard, as flashes lit up the clouds above dark rooftops and trees while rain fell. In one frame a bright flash turns the whole sky purple.

“Round two! We now have had 2.3 inches of rain today,” the filmer wrote.

Earlier the same day, heavy rain triggered flash flooding across the Phoenix area, with washes running and firefighters rescuing people from vehicles trapped in floodwater.
