Lightning Bolt Explodes Across Kentucky Sky In Stunning Purple-White Flash

“I love people” captured a lightning bolt that suddenly illuminated the entire sky in a purple-white flash at 10:46 p.m. on September 18.

The bolt branched across the clouds above a dark residential street, briefly lighting up streetlights, a grassy lot and low buildings before the scene went dark again.

“I love people” said he had asked the sky for lightning just as the bolt struck.

That night, a line of thunderstorms was moving through Jessamine County, including Nicholasville, with frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.
