Kilauea Volcano Spews Streams Of Hot Lava In Latest Eruption
Kilauea volcano on Hawaii’s Big Island put on a spectacular display early Thursday as streams of hot lava flowed down and spewed from the summit, illuminating the surrounding area.
Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes and has been erupting periodically since December 23, 2024, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The agency also recorded a recent increase in earthquakes in the immediate area, logging about 40 since Wednesday.
The USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory continues to closely monitor the volcanic activity.
