Kilauea Lava Fountains Surge Across Crater During Seven-Hour Eruption In Hawaii
A timelapse video captured episode 50 of lava fountaining in Halemaumau at the summit of Kilauea.
The eruption episode lasted for about seven hours on June 27, 2026. The footage was recorded by the V1cam, located on the northwest rim of the crater in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
The video shows the lava fountain from the north vent changing throughout the eruption, producing lava flows that spread from the vent and moved along the backside of the cone.
Because the camera is a pan-tilt-zoom model, the viewing perspective changes several times during the timelapse.
