Helicopter Rescues Two Elderly People From Car Stuck In Flooded Arizona Wash
A rescue helicopter was sent to a flooded wash on State Route 238 after a car carrying two people in their 80s became stuck about 20 miles west of Maricopa on September 16.
The helicopter hovered low over the flooded stretch of road as crews responded to the water rescue. The footage shows the aircraft beside a white fire truck on the wet two-lane highway.
The two occupants were brought out safely.
SR 238 was closed between 75th Avenue and near 99th Avenue, while westbound SR 238 near 99th Avenue was also closed because of flooding.
Goodyear Fire warned drivers to avoid SR 238 and not drive through floodwater.
