Former Category 5 Hurricane Genevieve Spins Across Pacific As Storm Fades
Satellite imagery captured the remnants of former Hurricane Genevieve as the system spiraled over the open waters of the eastern Pacific.
The post-tropical low, once a powerful Category 5 hurricane, was shown through color-enhanced satellite views as its low-level vortex gradually lost organization between late July and early August 2026.
Genevieve weakened while moving over cooler waters and transformed into a post-tropical low. The system continued drifting northwest across the open ocean and posed no threat to land.
