Floodwater covered residential streets as a powerful nor’easter pushed tides in Ocean City close to levels seen during the historic 2016 storm Jonas.

The video was filmed by X user Zach Blum on the morning of September 27, 2026, near the Ninth Street Bridge. The footage begins at the “Welcome to Ocean City, New Jersey — America’s Greatest Family Resort” sign before showing wet roads and traffic beneath a gray sky.

Blum then walks along the raised sidewalk beside the bridge, revealing floodwater covering a residential street between houses and utility poles. Leaves and debris are scattered across the pavement, while a dark vehicle sits farther down the flooded roadway.

The storm pushed water at the Ninth Street Bridge to repeated peaks around high tide. Saturday morning’s tide reached 7.63 feet, almost matching the level recorded during the 2016 nor’easter Jonas.

All bridges into Ocean City were closed for a time, while the Ninth Street Bridge remained closed after the others reopened.

Homeowners later reported floodwater entering their houses.
