Flash Floods Turn Laughlin Walkway Into Muddy River As Colorado River Swells
Muddy floodwater races across a waterfront walkway as thunderstorms trigger flash flooding around Laughlin and the Colorado River.
Video filmed by X user J shows brown water covering the wet pavement beside a waterfront building and palm trees. An orange booth marked “JET BOAT TOURS” stands behind a fence as floodwater runs across the plaza and around directional signs.
The camera then pans toward the Colorado River, which appears swollen and brown against the far bank.
The National Weather Service issued flood warnings for Laughlin and the Colorado River Valley on September 28 after thunderstorms brought intense rainfall to the area. The agency warned that the storms could produce flash flooding, while rainfall totals in the region reached around 1 to 2 inches in a short period.
RTC reported flooding along Casino Drive, while highway crews said water was flowing across the road. Clark County flood gauges later recorded about 2.11 inches of rain near Laughlin.
