Firefighters Smash Floor to Free Dog Trapped in Valencia Drain

Firefighters broke through floor tiles to rescue a small dog that became trapped in a home’s drainage system in Sollana, south of Valencia.

Footage released by the Valencia Provincial Consortium Firefighters on October 21 shows the crew from the Silla station lying on the floor, chipping away tiles with a hammer drill and shining a torch into the hole. They reach in and coax the dog out, cheering “¡Bien!” as it comes free.

The firefighters said the dog had become trapped accidentally. The crew made small, controlled excavations to find it before handing it back to its owners in good health.
