Firefighters Join Valencia Education Strike In Rare Show Of Solidarity

Video filmed by X user Boro Montroy shows firefighters joining and supporting the ongoing indefinite education strike in Valencia on its 25th day.

The post caption reads: “25th day of indefinite strike Firefighters always on the side of the people and just causes.”

In the footage, firefighters in uniform are seen marching and standing alongside protesters, holding a banner in a visible show of solidarity with striking education workers and their demands for improved public education.

The video captures a moment of cross-sector support during the prolonged teachers’ and education workers’ indefinite strike in the Valencian Community.

The strike, now in its fourth week as of early June 2026, has included daily demonstrations, encampments in Valencia, including at Plaza de la Virgen, symbolic actions, and growing backing from other workers and unions.

Firefighters and other public servants have repeatedly expressed solidarity with educators opposing regional government policies, budget cuts, and working conditions in public education.
