Emus Enjoy Cooling Spray During Scorching UK Heatwave

Video filmed by X user Caenhillcc shows several emus at Caenhill Countryside Centre in Devizes being cooled down with a hose during the UK heatwave on May 26, 2026.

Chris, who runs the centre, is seen spraying the large birds with water from a garden hose inside their enclosure.

The emus stand beneath the cooling spray as water hits their bodies during another scorching hot day.

The footage captures the birds clearly enjoying the refreshing water while unusually high temperatures continue across much of the UK.

The clip was posted with the caption “Cool down with the emus another hot day as the heatwave continues”.

The video highlights how the charity is caring for its animals during the ongoing spell of hot weather.
