Drone Footage Captures Massive Lozoyuela Wildfire Spreading Across Spain

Drone footage captures the evolving Lozoyuela wildfire, revealing the scale and intensity of the blaze as it burns across forested hills and valleys.

The aerial video shows huge plumes of white and gray smoke rising into the sky while bright orange flames spread through dense trees and underbrush. Glowing fire fronts are visible along ridgelines, and thermal imaging highlights clusters of intense heat. The wildfire extends near water bodies and open fields as smoke drifts across the landscape from daylight into dusk and night.

The images were recorded by the Madrid Firefighters’ Special Drone Unit as emergency crews monitor the fire’s progression. Forest firefighters, forest agents, the Military Emergency Unit, and other agencies remain engaged in containment operations.

The wildfire, declared on July 16, led to the confinement of around 2,000 residents in nearby communities, preventive evacuations, and the activation of the INFOMA emergency plan at Level 2. A suspect has been detained in connection with the fire as crews continue working to stabilize the perimeter under difficult conditions.
