Drone Captures Huge Flames Engulfing Downtown Colorado Springs Building

Colorado Springs, United States – A drone captured towering flames and thick smoke rising from a vacant commercial building in downtown Colorado Springs before it was demolished because of structural instability.

Footage released by Colorado Springs Fire Department shows the blaze lighting up the surrounding streets, with emergency vehicles gathered beside the burning building.

Firefighters were dispatched to 112 Sahwatch Street at 2:53 a.m. on Thursday, November 5. The first engine arrived three minutes later to find the building fully involved, prompting a second alarm and a defensive attack, the department said.

The bulk of the fire was knocked down around 4 a.m. The building was demolished later that morning so crews could safely reach hidden fire. No injuries were reported, and the cause remained under investigation.
