First responders rescued a man from an overturned car in a creek near Southeast 39th Street and Santa Fe Avenue on Thursday evening.

Bodycam footage shows the dramatic rescue as officers discovered someone was inside the vehicle after entering the water.

“There’s someone inside. You said there is someone inside? Yeah, I hear him,” an officer could be heard saying in the video.

The rescue team worked to keep the driver talking while they planned how to remove him from the vehicle.

“Can we get something to open the back, maybe jaws? We got the window open,” another officer said.

Officers and firefighters pulled the man from the car through a window and out of the water.

Authorities confirmed the driver was the only person inside the vehicle. He was checked by first responders and is expected to be OK.
