Deputies and Trooper Swim Through Floodwater to Rescue Man Trapped in Flooded Arizona Home
Yavapai County, United States – Sheriff's deputies and a state trooper swam through rising floodwater to rescue a man trapped inside a flooded home in Yavapai County, Arizona, on Sunday afternoon, November 1.
Body camera footage released by the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office shows brown floodwater rushing through yards and trees around homes as the rescuers make their way to the house and inside.
After helping a woman to dry ground, the deputies and an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper were told another person was still trapped inside the residence, the sheriff's office said. The team waded and swam through deep water to get into the house, found the man and brought him to safety using a neighbour's kayak.
"Flood waters are expected to remain high throughout the day, please be safe," the office wrote.
