Caver Rescued After 26 Hours Trapped In Sardinian Cave
A caver trapped inside a cave following a collapse was rescued on October 12 after 26 hours of operations in Sardinia’s Nuoro province.
More than 30 firefighters took part in the complex rescue alongside the Alpine Rescue Service. The risk of further collapses made the operation particularly delicate as teams worked to reach and recover the trapped man.
After being brought out of the cave, the caver was handed over to medical personnel for transport to hospital.
