Blazing Fireball Lights Up Sky Over Western New York Before Dawn

A security camera captured a dramatic meteor streaking across the dark pre-dawn sky above Silvercreek, New York, at approximately 5:15 a.m. on May 27, 2026.

The footage, filmed by X user Kristin Hall, shows a quiet residential street lined with houses and trees, with a white porch railing visible in the foreground.

Moments later, a bright white-orange fireball suddenly races across the sky from left to right. The meteor leaves behind a visible glowing trail before disappearing seconds later.

The brief but striking event was recorded on a Nest doorbell camera and is considered one of the clearest videos of the meteor seen across Western New York that morning.

The poster later confirmed the exact time and location of the sighting in replies online.
