Armored Army Vehicle Pushes Through Flooded Streets To Deliver Food And Water In Thailand
An eight-wheeled armored vehicle pushes through deep floodwater as soldiers and civilian volunteers deliver food, bottled water and relief supplies to residents cut off by flooding on September 30.
The vehicle creates a large wake as it travels between Sam Thahan intersection and Kabin Buri Hospital, carrying passengers alongside cartons of eggs and packs of bottled water. Residents wade through the brown water to receive supplies.
In one scene, soldiers and civilians unload trays of eggs from the vehicle onto a pickup beside a flooded building flying the Thai flag. The vehicle later stops beneath a covered walkway and hands water packs to people standing in the flood.
Another shot looks down a market street transformed into a canal, with only the upper portion of a white car visible above the water. An aerial view shows the armored vehicle traveling alongside a high-clearance cargo truck, both pushing through the flooded road.
The army said ordinary vehicles could no longer use the route to the hospital, prompting the deployment of the eight-wheeled vehicle to transport people and deliver food, water and relief bags to homes that remained cut off.
