Aerial Water Drop Captured As Crews Fight Massive California Wildfire
Video filmed by CAL FIRE NEU shows firefighters from Dobbins and Auburn operating dozers during the response to the Gann Fire.
The footage captures a dry, brush-covered hillside under clear skies with smoke rising above the terrain. Multiple dozers are seen working along the ridgeline as a heavy-lift helicopter approaches.
The helicopter makes a water drop over the slope near the equipment while dozers continue operating during the firefighting effort.
CAL FIRE NEU dozers from Dobbins and Auburn are constructing containment lines while aerial resources support the response with water drops.
The Gann Fire started August 3 near Hogan Dam Road and Gann Road in the Valley Springs area from equipment use. The fire has burned more than 10,000 acres, destroyed structures, caused one civilian fatality, and triggered large-scale evacuations.
