US KC-135 Refuels F-16 Fighter Jets Midair During Mission Over Middle East
A U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker refueled F-16 Fighting Falcons in midair during a mission over the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility on 2 October.
Aerial footage released by United States Air Forces Central and filmed by Tech. Sgt. Tiffany Emery shows the tanker maintaining formation as the fighter jets approach and connect to receive fuel while flying at altitude.
The operation was part of routine aerial refueling missions supporting theater security operations across the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
The footage highlights the coordination required between tanker crews and fighter pilots to transfer fuel in flight, allowing aircraft to remain airborne longer without landing to refuel.
