Retired Military Pilot Films Early Snow Blanketing Colorado’s San Juan Mountains

Deep snow already blankets Colorado’s San Juan Mountains in late October, aerial footage shared on Monday, October 26, shows.

X user Combat Learjet, a retired military pilot and airline captain, filmed the range from the air, as row after row of white peaks and ridges stretched to the horizon, with clouds drifting through the valleys below.

“The amount of snow in the San Juan Mountains this early in the season is incredible!” he wrote, asking followers to guess the name of the small mountain town visible in the middle of the video.

The San Juans, in southwestern Colorado, are one of the most rugged ranges in the Rocky Mountains.
