Raging Animas River Churns Under Durango Footbridge as Police Close All River Bridges
Durango, United States – The raging Animas River hurled debris downstream past Rotary Park in Durango, Colorado, as police closed all pedestrian bridges and the river trail.
Footage released by the Durango Police Department shows the fast-moving, muddy river churning beneath a steel footbridge at the park.
"All Animas River pedestrian bridges and river trail closed until further notice. This video from Rotary Park shows why," the department wrote, warning of dangerous currents and debris. "No photo is worth your life."
Heavy rain brought historic flooding across southwest Colorado over the weekend.
