National Guard Truck Ploughs Through Vast Floodwater in New Mexico
Socorro County, United States – A New Mexico National Guard truck ploughed through fast-flowing floodwater in Socorro County, New Mexico, on October 26.
Footage released by the Guard, filmed from the cab of a Light Medium Tactical Vehicle shows the truck driving through a vast sheet of floodwater covering the land, with only treetops and bushes sticking out of the water.
The New Mexico National Guard and the state Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management urged residents to stay vigilant as communities began recovering from widespread flooding and severe weather.
Officials told residents not to return to evacuated or restricted areas until local authorities say it is safe, and warned of damaged infrastructure, downed power lines and other hidden hazards during the clean-up.
