Floodwater Swallows Road to Florida Airport as Valkaria Road Stays Closed
Valkaria, United States – Floodwater swallowed the road leading to Valkaria Airport in Florida, a day after record rain hit Brevard County.
X user Ryder Schuch filmed the scene at about 5:30pm on Tuesday, November 3, with the road disappearing under a wide sheet of water lined with trees, and road signs and barriers poking out of the flood.
North Grant-Valkaria was "ground zero" for the downpour, with 23.69 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service. Brevard County officials listed the road between Valkaria Airport and US 1 as washed out.
"Valkaria Road leading up to Valkaria Airport still closed and flooded. 5:30 PM EST," the filmer wrote.
