Deputies Carry Terrified Woman Through Floodwater in Arizona as Her Dog Is Rescued Too
Camp Verde, United States – Deputies carried a terrified woman through floodwater to safety in Camp Verde, Arizona, as another officer carried her dog.
Body camera footage released by the Camp Verde Marshal's Office shows deputies wading through brown water at night past flooded RVs and homes, shouting: "Does anybody need help?"
A deputy then lifts the woman onto his back and tells her to hold on to his arms. "Oh my God. Is this really happening?" she asks as he carries her through the water. "Yes, it's really happening," he replies.
When she says she cannot breathe, the deputy puts her back on her feet for a moment, before lifting her again. "Where's my dog?" she asks. "Your dog's over there by the flashing lights," he tells her.
The rescue took place on Sunday, November 1, as historic flooding hit Yavapai County, FOX 10 reported. Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs declared a state of emergency the next day.
"Our deputies have worked tirelessly alongside fire personnel, emergency responders, public works crews, and other partner agencies," the marshal's office wrote.
