Floodwater Surges Past Lit-Up Buildings at Colorado's Navajo State Park as Night Falls
Navajo State Park, United States – Fast-moving floodwater surged past buildings at Navajo State Park in southwest Colorado as darkness fell on Sunday, November 1.
Footage released by the park, part of Colorado Parks and Wildlife, shows a wide stretch of churning brown water rushing past trees and lamp posts, with the lights of park buildings glowing behind it at 5:30pm.
The park sits on Navajo Reservoir near the Piedra and San Juan rivers, which swelled to record levels after days of heavy rain. Colorado Parks and Wildlife closed several offices and properties in the region because of the flooding.
