Cop Grabs Two-Foot Snake With Bare Hands After Finding It In Elderly Woman’s Bedroom

A police officer came to the rescue of an elderly woman on October 7 after she discovered a snake in her bedroom and Animal Services could not respond immediately.

Officer Austin Fogarty of the Montgomery County Police Department’s 6th District used a long grabbing tool to pull the roughly two-foot black snake from near a bed. He then picked it up with his bare hands and carried it outside, where he released it.

The woman can be heard reacting in relief as Fogarty removes the unexpected visitor. It was the officer’s first time catching a snake.

Neither Fogarty nor the resident was harmed.
