Bear Cubs Caught Ransacking Colorado Home After Deputies Respond To Break In

Sheriff’s deputies responding to a reported break-in arrived to find two bear cubs still inside the home, ransacking the property and feasting on cat food.

The two sibling cubs had climbed through an open window to explore the house, creating an unusual scene for deputies who arrived at the residence.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife personnel responded and helped deputies escort the young bears out of the home and back into the nearby woods.

Officials urged residents to remain bear aware following several recent bear encounters. They advised securing trash, bringing in bird feeders, keeping pet food indoors and locking lower-level doors and windows.
