Bear Climbs Into Commercial Dumpster In Colorado In Search Of Food

A black bear climbs halfway up a commercial dumpster and reaches toward the open lid in the early morning hours.

Security-camera footage posted by the Breckenridge Police Department shows the bear perched against the side of the dumpster on a concrete pad, with its head at the open lid.

No people are visible as the bear searches inside the commercial dumpster.

Police posted the footage on September 1 to warn businesses that bears are getting into commercial dumpsters, not just residential trash cans.

The department urged businesses to keep dumpster lids closed and latched and to make sure staff, tenants and visitors understand bear-safety measures.
